Britney and K-Fed are over. Nick and Jessica are over. Brad and Angelina are almost over and Tom and Katie won’t last long.
There are few things that succeed in raising the bile to the tip of my throat than celebrity relationships.
Bennifer, Bennifer 2, Tomkat, Brangelina....who gives a shit?!
What does it say about society when newspapers plaster celebrity couples all over the front page because their relationship is on a rocky road?
It sickens me when the headline story on the 6 o’Clock news is something to do with some celebrity. Baghdad may be burning, Rwandans may be starving, but wait! Britney’s divorced K-Fed!!! Stop the presses!!! Get the paparazzo on the line!, we need a photo of Britney looking relieved and one of Kevin looking stupid!
Is it just me, or does every single marriage or relationship between two celebrities fail? Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman seemed to have it right…but no, now they’re off plotting another divorce each – with other celebrities.
Is this demented little microcosm that is the celebrity world a class case of life imitating art?
Do celebrities really fall in and out love with such reckless abandon because they spend their lives acting it out for money?
Or, is it all one big marketing game? Would celebrity A announce they love celebrity B, because celebrity A has a new release movie to promote, and celebrity B needs a publicity boost, because celebrity C, who was previously married to celebrity B, has just wed celebrity D – who happens to have just released a solo album?
Surely not….

Even for someone who loves celebrity gossip as much as I do, I am ropable when I see the news dominated by non-stories like a celebrity sex tape or wedding when there's real news going on.
